Bert was rescued from the pound just in the nick of time. He and his friend Ernie were kept past their alloted time because the staff thought they were too sweet and were trying very hard to get them rescued.
It seems Bert has not spent much of his life as a family dog and he is soo excited to get any attention. He will even sit still for ear cleanings, etc. Just so someone is holding him ;)  He is very loving and gets along with other dogs and even cats.  He is making great progress with his housebreaking and does well in a crate.  He has started his heartworm treatment and is beginning the recovery process so that he can have a long and happy, healthy life!
